...and Was Buried
...and Was Buried (54"x 40" acrylic on hardboard) Having completed the painting of the resurrection, He's Alive! and the crucifixion, He Died, this, the central panel, cried out to complete the cycle. The six-side configuration was the result of wanting to emphasize ONLY the body of Christ as borne by the Apostles to his borrowed tomb. Even though the triptych format is traditional, I wanted there to be nothing traditional about the overall depiction, to further heighten the emotional impact upon the viewer, underlining the forceful declaration that "He Died...and Was Buried. But now, He's Alive!"
Framed in contemporary oak....$1,900.
