When the name Picasso comes up, stories about his long and colourful life begin flowing like the paint from his hyperactive brush. His signature on a work of art made it often more valuable than it would have been at the bottom of a check. It's said he once drew up plans for a cupboard he wanted built--nothing special, just an ordinary...well...cupboard. In taking it to his friendly, local, neighbourhood cabinet builder he asked how much it would cost him. "Nothing," replied the carpenter, "Just sign the bottom of the plans and I'll do it for free." Picasso did and so did the very astute woodcrafter.
